Our Beliefs

  • The Bible is the Word of God for all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Since it was inspired by God, the Bible is the ultimate and authoritative truth, without any mixture of error and is completely relevant for us today. The Bible is a unified story about Jesus!

    2 Timothy 3:15-17; Luke 24:44; Hebrews 4:12

  • God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. He exists as one Being in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the trinity serves different functions, they are One in nature, essence, and power.

    Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 8:6; John 17:21

  • God is the Creator of the Universe. He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, all wise, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. God is good, loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

    Exodus 3:14; Leviticus 11:44-45; John 20:17; Galatians 4:5-6

  • Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, was completely human, but at the same time completely God. He is the only plan for bringing people who are enemies of God back into a right relationship with God. He lived a perfect life, without any sin, so that He could be a substitue for us, in paying our sin debt through his death upon the cross. In His resurrection He defeated death so that we could have eternal life by the free gift of grace, through faith. He ascended back to His throne in heaven, from where He reigns on high, and He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His Kingdom in all its fullness!

    Matthew 1:21-23; 28:5-6; Luke 22:70; 24:46-47; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 2:9

  • The Holy Spirit dwells within all genuine disciples of Jesus. He guides believers into all truth, and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment.

He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, empowers us for witness, and transforms us to become more like Jesus.

    John 16:7-14; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9-11, 8:14-17; 1 Corinthians 3:16

  • Man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Man was created to have fellowship with God, but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is utterly sinful and broken and cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Every person of every race is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

    Genesis 1:26-30, 3:1-24; Psalm 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10-18; 23

  • Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God means eternal death in a real place called hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.

    Matthew 25:14-46; John 3:16; Romans 6:23; 1 John 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15, 21:1-4

  • The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people repent of their sin and place their trust in the person of Jesus Christ, and in His death and resurrection as the one and only sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a free gift of God’s grace and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.

    John 3:16, 36, 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9

  • The local church is a community of baptized believers united through faith in Christ which regularly assembling together and practices the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper. Its members are committed to follow the teachings of Christ, to loving and serving one another, and to bringing the gospel to the world. The church follows Jesus together in love and unity, for the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

The New Testament speaks also of the global church which includes all of the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation.

    Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 2:19-22; Hebrews 10:24-25.

  • We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by discipling every member into maturity in Christ, and equipping each one for the work of the ministry and mission.

    Colossians 1:28, Ephesians 4:12
