Vision & Core Values
We seek to use our core values to serve God and our community
-
The Word
The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. It is the ultimate and authoritative truth. It is without error and is profitable for instruction and application in our lives. We believe our hearts should delight in it and our lives should be formulated around learning it and following it. Therefore, we are committed to teach God’s Word in a way that is understandable, relevant, and aims for heart application and life transformation
(2 Tim. 3:16, Psalm 119:16, John 17:17).
-
Prayer
Jesus modeled a prayerful dependence upon the Lord, and he taught us to be the same way, because apart from him we can do nothing. Therefore, we are committed to making prayer central to the life of our church, as well as in our homes, and individual lives.
(Luke 5:16, Matthew 6:9-13, Acts 2:42)
-
Team
Jesus sent out the disciples in teams (Luke 10:1), the apostles appointed teams to lead ministry in the early church (Acts 6:2-6), Paul formed missionary teams (Acts 13:4), and local churches in the New Testament were each led by a team of elders (Titus 1:5, Acts 20:17). In leadership, in ministry, and on mission, we believe working in teams is not only modeled in Scripture but also the most effective way of shepherding God’s people and accomplishing the Great Commission.
-
Community
We are not meant to follow Jesus on our own, but together as a unified family of God’s people. We are devoted to sharing life together as we gather for corporate worship and participate in home groups. These groups are dedicated to studying God’s Word, praying, sharing meals together, and practicing the one another’s.
(Hebrews 10:24-25, Acts 2:44-47)
-
Serving
God’s design is that every believer be an active and engaged member of the local church, and to use the gifts given them by the Spirit to serve and to bless the body. As a church, we aim to see every member share in the mutual blessing of lovingly serving each other with their Spirit endowed gifts.
(1 Peter 4:10, 1 Cor. 12:12-14, 1 Corinthians 12:21-27)
-
Discipleship
The Great Commission, or the job that Jesus gave the church to accomplish while it awaits his return, is to "make disciples of all nations." This is accomplished by reaching the lost with the gospel, by baptizing those who believe as a marker of their new identity in Christ, and by teaching His people to follow all that Jesus taught and modeled. We believe every Christ follower is an ambassador for Christ, sent on mission to make more disciples. Therefore, we are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by discipling every member into maturity in Christ and equipping each one for the work of the ministry and mission.
(Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, Colossians 1:28, Ephesians 4:12)
